Ainda Assim, Tento Uma e Outra Vez (Still, I Try Again And Again) is an insistent gesture in the face of obstacle, error, and failure — a repeated attempt to be born, or to return, from the earth. The work emerges from the tension between holding on and letting go, between persistence and surrender, between shaping and allowing collapse.
Each repeated, deformed, broken, or flattened face carries the weight of a failed gesture — but also bears witness to continuous effort. As if every attempt, even flawed, were necessary. As if returning to the origin — to the earth, to matter, to the beginning — were the only possible path forward.
This work evokes repetition as both resistance and vulnerability: not insisting out of a belief in perfection, but because something within us doesn't know how to stop. What gathers at the center disperses toward the edges. What was once presence becomes absence.
And still, we try — again and again.
