Anotio (b. 2003, Ourém, Portugal) lives, studies, and develops his artistic practice in Porto, the city he chose to continue his studies, having enrolled in 2021 at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, pursuing a degree in Fine Arts, Multimedia branch. His artistic practice is, by nature, intuitive, based on a careful and detailed observation of both the natural and artificial worlds. After dissecting and exploring the sensations and notions acquired, he seeks to represent them in the purest way possible, considering creation a meditative process of self-reflection and constant dialogue with the themes that intrigue him. His work is not limited to a single medium or field, using drawing, sculpture, photography, installation, painting, and video to place his ideas in dialogue with the observer. Anotio explores themes that intrigue him and are deeply intrinsic to him, such as the human condition, spirituality, memory, and identity, which form the foundation of his artistic practice.
